Enchilada and Tamale Chili Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef, ground turkey, or chopped roasted chicken

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 4 tbsp Gebhardt’s chili powder

  • 3 cups low sodium chicken stock

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Brown ground beef, ground turkey, or chopped roasted chicken in large sauté pan on medium high heat
  • Drain grease and set meat aside
  • Heat oil and sauté onion in pan
  • Add flour and Gebhardt’s Chili Powder; stir until flour and chili powder are mixed
  • Add chicken stock; cook for about 20 minutes until smooth, and season with salt and pepper
  • Return meat to pan and cook on low for 15 minutes
