Candied Carrots

1 lb carrots, cut into 1" pieces
2 tbsp butter
¼ cup packed brown sugar
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper
Directions
- On medium heat, steam carrots in pot with steamer basket, about 10-12 minutes; carrots should be fork soft but not mushy
- Remove the carrots from the pot, remove steamer basket and water, and return carrots to pot
- Stir in butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper
- Cook 4-5 minutes, until sugar is bubbly
