Candied Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 lb carrots, cut into 1" pieces

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

Directions

  • On medium heat, steam carrots in pot with steamer basket, about 10-12 minutes; carrots should be fork soft but not mushy
  • Remove the carrots from the pot, remove steamer basket and water, and return carrots to pot
  • Stir in butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper
  • Cook 4-5 minutes, until sugar is bubbly
