Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp cold water

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup honey

  • ¾ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 3 clove garlic, pressed

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Directions

  • In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the cornstarch, cold water, sugar, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and ground black pepper; let simmer, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens and bubbles
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • Place chicken in lined and lightly greased 9x13 baking dish
  • Brush chicken with the prepared sauce, turn over and cover with remaining sauce
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, until no longer pink and juices run clear
