  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, very cold

  • ¾ cup whole milk

  • ⅓ cup butter, melted

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF and line cookie sheet with parchment paper
  • Prepare a clean surface to knead dough, sprinkle with flour
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in large bowl
  • Cut or shred butter into flour mixture to create course crumbs
  • Gently work dough together on floured surface
  • Fold in half and flatten 5-6 times to create layers; dough should be 1" thick
  • Cut out using lightly dusted round biscuit cutter (I use a drinking glass)
  • Set on prepared cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes
  • When the biscuits are baked through, remove from oven, brush with melted butter, and put the biscuits back in the oven for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown
